A hoodie price is a specification outcome
There is no universal hoodie price. Fabric weight and finish, hood construction, rib, pocket, pattern, decoration, quantity, packaging and freight can move the result substantially. A manufacturer should explain these variables instead of offering a number that changes later.
Start with the customer and intended retail position. A promotional hoodie, premium streetwear piece and technical layer require different materials and controls.
Fabric weight is only the beginning
Hoodies commonly use French terry or brushed fleece. Composition, yarn, loop structure, brushing, shrinkage treatment, colour and usable width matter alongside GSM. A 320 GSM fabric is not automatically better than 280 GSM.
Match rib recovery, hood shape and pattern allowance to the body fabric. Substituting a heavier fabric into a light pattern can distort the neckline, pocket and drape.
Construction adds operations
Double-layer hoods, concealed pockets, side panels, custom drawcords, metal trims, coverstitching and reinforced seams increase material or labour. Oversized fits consume more fabric than regular fits.
Document hood height, pocket position, cuff and hem dimensions, seam finish and tolerances. Approving these points in the sample protects bulk production.
Decoration changes the route
Embroidery is influenced by stitch count and backing; screen printing by screens, colours and placements; appliqué by cutting and sewing. Heavy fleece may require different artwork preparation from jersey.
Keep artwork, colour references, placement dimensions and the approved decoration with the production specification. Test large graphics on the real fabric.
Plan landed cost
Add sampling, labels, packaging, inspection, freight, customs and duties to the manufacturing price. DDP may simplify budgeting, while DDU gives the buyer responsibility for import charges and clearance.

Where hoodie quotes usually change
Hoodies change quickly when the body fabric, rib, hood layers, zipper, pocket construction, print placement or embroidery size changes. Even small trim decisions can affect minimums because drawcords, eyelets, zipper tape and labels may come from different suppliers.
A quote should state what is included: sample, pattern work, fabric, dyeing, decoration, labels, packaging, inspection and shipping term. If one supplier quotes only cut-make-trim and another includes labels and packing, the unit prices are not comparable.
Decision rule for first orders
For a first brand order, protect the fit and fabric before adding extra decoration. A well-made blank with stable measurements is easier to reorder than a complicated first style with too many untested trims.
Once the first hoodie sells through, repeat the approved body and add new colourways or artwork. That creates data for sizing, returns and fabric performance while keeping production risk controlled.
